Why Is It Taking Freddie Blay So Long To Sue Me? – Ablakwa | Politics
Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has once again called the bluff of former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman Freddie Blay on his threat to take legal action against him.
This comes after Mr. Ablakwa accused Mr Blay’s son of illegally acquiring the beachfront of the Labadi Beach Hotel.
In an interview with JoyNews, the NPP stalwart stated that his children lawfully acquired specific property from the La Council, emphasizing that this ownership does not involve the management of the hotel.
Speaking on Tuesday, he added that “there’s no political manipulation or influence in respect of what you’re seeing.”
In previous media interactions, Mr Blay indicated that he would be forced to sue the North Tongu MP for defamation within a week to clear his name.
On June 16, the legislator dared Mr. Blay to initiate legal proceedings immediately instead of waiting for the expiration of his one-week ultimatum.
It is nearly two weeks since the threat and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is wondering why the delay in following through.
Speaking on Joy FM, Mr Ablakwa said: “I don’t know why it is taking him so long.”
“He gave me seven days, it’s been more than two weeks. I remember that when he served notice that same day, I dared him to go ahead. When you are armed with the truth you fear no court, you fear no judge.”
He added that politically exposed persons should stay away from acquiring state assets.
