Ga Mantse Petitioned Over Alleged Land Fraud | General News

Revealedtruth Company, a Ghanaian-owned real estate agency, has petitioned the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, to intervene in a suspected case of land fraud against Captain Nii Kojo Nseni Mankata II.

In a petition signed by its Director, RevealedTruth Company Limited, it gave a comprehensive breakdown of the transactions with Asafoatse Nii Kojo Nseni Mankata II, his agent, Alhaji Abubakar Mokaila, and how the traditional rule has allegedly failed to fulfil his side of the agreement.

According to the petition, the company was engaged by one of its top clients to facilitate the purchase of a piece of land on their behalf. Following discussions and negotiations, the company says it agreed to a deal with Asafoaste Nii Kojo Nseni Mankata over an 8-acre plot of land for a fee of GHC 320,000.

However, following full payment, the traditional ruler has failed to peacefully deliver the said piece of land, leading RevealedTruth’s client threatening to drag the company to the Ghana Police Service.

The company says it decided to seek assistance from the Ga Mantse office due to its firm belief that the Ga Mantse can bring finality to the matter and not allow it become a subject of litigation.

Per the content of the petition submitted to the Ga Mantse office, Asafoatse Nii Kojo Mankata and one Alhaji Abubakar Mukaila were the two men who fronted the entire operations but have since 2020 been playing hide-and-seek with the company following and showed no real sign of honoring their promise.

“Revealedtruth Company Limited is a real estate company engaged in the facilitation of land sales in Ghana and allied services.

“We were contacted by one of our top clients to help them acquire a piece of land. We consulted with the various custodians of the lands in Accra for available spaces and eventually met with your subject, Asafoatse Captain Nii Kojo Mankata.

“The negotiations on the sale of the land and eventual payment of the purchase price were done in his office located in your Palace. The purchase price forthe 8-acre land was agreed at Ghc 320,000.00. He later furnished us with an indenture supposedly to be executed between my client and Nii Lante Lamptey, the head of the Nii Lante Okunka Family of Danchira-Accra.

“Upon payment of the money, my client tried to take possession of the land, only for them to be confronted by one Mack Bennys Company Limited, who also laid claim to it. The matter was eventually reported to the police, who came and did a search at the Lands Commission in Accra. The results were different from the representations made to us by Asafoatse Captain Nii Kojo Mankata.

“Ever since the results came out, Asafoatse Captain Nii Kojo Mankata has become evasive, refusing to answer our calls or returning them. Interestingly, he answers phone calls from other numbers, but he pretends not to hear us and hangs up as soon as he realizes it is us.”

“My client has concluded on reporting the matter to the CID of Ghana Police Service, but we have asked them to hold on while we petition your good office to have to resolve this matter.

“We are therefore appealing to you to use your good office to have this matter expeditiously dealt with in the interest of justice.

Attached to the petition to the Ga Mantse’s office are copies of transactions between the company and Asafoatse Captain Nii Kojo Mankata, including a cheque for the payment.
