NDC Paints Ashanti Green With “Enti Asanteman Aseda Ni” Walk | Politics

Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti region on Sunday morning marched in Kumasi to welcome John Dramani Mahama, who is on a tour of the Ashanti Region as part of the 2024 election campaign.

The walk Dubbed “Enti Asanteman Aseda ni” was, aimed at stressing the call of the NDC for a change of government and a shift from the Ashanti Region’s voting pattern on the December 7 election.

Addressing the mammoth party supporters at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi, Mr Mahama indicated that, the NPP has for so many years had the Ashanti Region as its “world bank” and Ashanti has since given their votes to the NPP.

But Mr. Mahama took a swipe at the NPP and said truth be told the NPP has not been fair to the NPP saying the lack of infrastructure in the Ashanti Region does not befit a region that is its party in power. Mr Mahama described this as a failure on the part of NPP over the neglect of the Asanteman.

Mr. Mahama indicated that the NPP is in the region now to start a project just because it is election time, he was quick to say that, it is the NDC that will come and complete all the projects that the NPP is currently in haste working on now. Mr. Mahama thus cautioned Asanteman to not allow themselves to be fooled for the third time.

“let be truthful, let be truthful NPP have never been fair with Asanteman at all. Ashanti region gives them more votes than the rest of the region but all the projects that were promised them are all uncompleted. Now that elections are nearing, for 8 years nothing was done, now you are paying contractors to work on projects that they knew would not be completed, all are 419. All these projects, interchanges and roads that they are now beginning to work on, I am telling you will be completed by the NDC”.

The NDC flagbearer continued that, president Akufo-Addo because he has failed in his governance has now turned to commissioning a last-minute project that he has not even completed. He said the Palace Mall road which he started and President Akufo-Addo abandoned in his 8year administration, quickly went to commission it.

Mr. Mahama said recently the Akufo-Addo Bawumia administration came out with a lie that Ethiopia Airlines will begin a Kumasi-to-London straight flight but that has also turned out to be a lie. Mr. Mahama said it was someone who boarded the flight privately adding that because elections are near, the NPP is lying about everything for votes saying that the NPP will never depart from 419.

“Now what Akufo-Addo has turned to is commissioning uncompleted projects. NPP can never stop being 419, recently I heard Ethiopia Airlines will begin a Kumasi-to-London straight flight but that is also a lie. I enquired and it was a private person that came from Ethiopia on a straight flight to Kumasi but the NPP is using that as bait to lie to the people of Kumasi to vote and that also is a 419”.

He cautioned Asanteman not to allow sweet promises to sway them from making the right choices adding that NDC is a party that doesn’t make sweet promises but acts with visible evidence of infrastructural projects.
