We Have High Hope In Your Leadership – Kpando Chiefs Tell Bawumia | Politics


The Chiefs and people of Kpando in the Volta Region, have expressed confidence in the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as he seeks to serve the country as President.

The Vice President and NPP flagbearer commenced his tour of the Volta Region on Sunday and as part of his tour, he visited the Kpando constituency where he engaged with Chiefs, religious leaders and the community.

Welcoming Dr. Bawumia, the Paramount Chief of Kpando, Togbe Dagadu IX expressed firm belief in Dr. Bawumia saying “let me, on behalf of the Chiefs and people of the area, express gratitude to this NPP government for various development projects we see”.

He continued; “There are a number of them that have happened on the national front. Notable among them is the free SHS policy but because of the people I represent, I will like to narrow down to what we have seen around…In fact I cannot mention them all, I will just mention a few of them. Through the efforts of this government, we have seen a new municipal assembly complex. My MCE and workers at the assembly have jubilated so much.”

“We also have a new audit service building, business advisory centre and 12 bungalows are being built for municipal assembly staff. Also two more bungalows are being built for the judicial service, for judges specifically”, Togbe Dagadu IX added.

The Paramount Chief also praised the government for supplying the community with road development equipment.

“…my MCE came to me with joy saying the DRIP machines are in. We have been talking so much about town roads. All is set for the programme and very soon we will see some relief as far as our town roads are concerned…For all these and many others, we are very grateful.”

“We the Chiefs and people of Kpando have high hopes in your leadership”, Togbe Dagadu XI further told Dr. Bawumia.

He also requested more development projects and called on Dr. Bawumia to help complete the rehabilitation of the Kpando Health Centre which is key in providing better healthcare for community and further told the Vice President to, when he becomes President, upgrade the Kpando Technical Institute to a tertiary institution as well as the revamp the Bishop Herman Senior High School.

The Chiefs and people presented a beautiful smock to Dr. Bawumia, assuring him of their readiness to support him.

“You coming here, I will say, Kpando is your home. There are a number of people here in Kpando who support you and your presence here has painted the town blue, white and red. I believe there are good tidings. We are ready to work with you anytime any day”, the Chief concluded.

Vice President Bawumia, on his part, expressed gratitude to the Chiefs and the community for their warm reception and assured them he will fulfill their request.
