Drivers For Bawumia Hit The Streets To Campaign In Kumasi | Politics

Two groups named Drivers for NPP Association and Friendly Driver Campaign Team on Saturday took bus stops and lorry terminals in the Ashanti Region over with the campaign of Dr Bawumia.

Touring Abrepo markets and lorry terminals as well as taxi stations at Mamponteng and Meduma, the group spoke to driver unions and passengers about the need to vote for Dr Mahamodu Bawumia in the upcoming elections.

Sharing flyers and stickers to driver unions as well as Dr Bawumia and Dr Napo branded t-shirts, the lead convener of Drivers for NPP Association, Maxwell Owusu Akoto said the NPP had made Ashanti roads motorable to ease the burden of drivers and passengers.

“The NPP government under Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia have ensured Ashanti roads were upgraded and made motorable for drivers so that they do not suffer breakdowns and regular maintenance that was previously occasioned by bad road networks and with this passengers enjoy their rides”, the convener stated.

Project Initiator:
Speaking to the media, initiator of the Drivers for NPP Association project and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) For Ghana Digital Centres Limited, Hon Kwadwo Baah Agyemang said the purpose of the initiative is to promote the campaign of Dr Bawumia.

He noted that the NPP flag-bearer had demonstrated various competencies as Vice President and so would be a good driver when elected as the next president of Ghana.

Hon Agyemang said there is no doubt that Dr Bawumia would be able to provide bold solutions and offer hope to the people of Ghana since he had been the brain behind all digitalization and technological systems in Ghana.

“I am a promoter of this idea and initiative and we aim at getting drivers and passengers to appreciate the work NPP had done including ensuring that no driver queued to buy fuel as happened during the NDC era. The NPP has also upgraded all roads in the country especially Ashanti for the comfort of drivers and passengers”, the GDCL CEO stated.

Speaking on behalf of the driver unions at Meduma Lorry Station, Mr Charles Ofori thanked the NPP Group for presenting them with t-shirts, banners and stickers.

He noted that they were aware of the good works of the NPP including the asphalting of the Meduma roads which were unmotorable previously.

The Chairman said the driver unions at Meduma would now put on the Bawumia t-shirts and use their services to educate the public on why they have to vote and extend the mandate of the NPP and the party’s parliamentary candidates.

“We are committed to doing our part to support the candidature of Dr Bawumia because we are beneficiaries of the NPP policies including free SHS education and the construction of good roads”, Mr Ofori promised.
