6 for Bawumia, 6 for Mahama: 12 pastors, 1 God – Who takes the prophecy ‘showdown crown’ in the 2024 elections? | Politics
“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” — Numbers 23:19 (KJV).
Ahead of the 2024 elections, political pollsters have predicted the outcomes based on data and science. However, at least 12 pastors have claimed to have received clear messages from God regarding the elections and have communicated these to the country.
Followers, especially Christians who believe in God, are eager to know the outcome of the elections and which pastor has a direct voice with God.
Although many people, including fellow pastors, have criticised these men of God for their prophecies, faith believers are keen to crown the champion in the political prophecy showdown, especially for the 2024 elections.
Two leading candidates, former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have been at the centre of these prophecies.
Here, we highlight twelve pastors who have prophesied victory for either of these two candidates.
Prophecies in favour of John Mahama
1.Rev Owusu-Bempah
The founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, has prophesied that the flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, will emerge as the winner in the upcoming general elections.
According to Owusu Bempah, God has endorsed John Mahama as the next Ghanaian President because of his good heart.
“When the prayer was going on. This is what the Lord has told me. Because of the good heart of this man, the Lord has entrusted the country in his hands again. Nothing can stop it,” he stated.
Rev. Owusu Bempah, who used to be a staunch supporter of the NPP, gave this prophecy during Mahama’s fellowship with the Clergy, which was held on October 1, 2024, at the DE ICON event Centre, East Legon.
2. Prophet Elijah A. M. Conteh
During a New Year Watch Night Service at Revival Power Ministries Worldwide, the famed Sierra Leonean prophet predicted that a party in Ghana with the acronym NDC would win the 2024 elections.
He specifically mentioned December 10, 2024, as the date of the victory announcement, just three days after the general election.
“I see a party like the NDC in Ghana celebrating an election; I don’t know whether the election is for [sic], but I saw the date 10th of December 2024.
“I saw an announcement being made, December 10, NDC party, whoever their flagbearer is, let them just pray and work well. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and God will cause us all to enjoy peace across the nations of the world,” he told his congregation.
3. Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom (Opambour)
The founder of Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre, popularly known as Opambour, reiterated his belief that John Mahama would return to the presidency.
According to Opambour, God has chosen Mahama to lead the nation, and no force can alter this divine plan.
“God has told me that John Mahama will assume the seat of the presidency and nothing can change that. God is the one bringing him because he is the only person who can change the fortunes of the nation and no one else.”
4. Prophet Nigel Gaisie
The leader of the Prophetic Hill Chapel also prophesied a victory for John Mahama during his New Year declarations.
Gaisie emphasised that Mahama would emerge victorious in the 2024 elections.
5. Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi
Prophet Badu Kobi predicted that the election would go into a runoff, but ultimately, Mahama and the NDC would triumph.
6. Unnamed Zambian Pastor
A pastor in Lusaka, Zambia, proclaimed during a church service that the NPP would not remain in power after the 2024 elections.
He asserted that John Mahama and the NDC would win decisively, leaving no room for doubt.
“In the year 2024, the National Democratic Congress of Ghana, led by President John Dramani Mahama… what I can say is that they have won.
“NDC, ‘omu afa’. NDC would win the 2024 election without any doubt. Praise the name of the Lord,” he said.
Prophecies in favour of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
1. Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng
The founder of Power Chapel International, Rev. Kusi Boateng, shared his prophecy during a church service, predicting that Dr. Bawumia would be declared the winner on December 9, 2024.
He also warned that the NPP might lose many parliamentary seats if they are not vigilant.
“And the result is obvious. Things are difficult; I know two people are coming, but the Lord has told me that by December 9, His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia shall be crowned the President of Ghana,” he prophesied to his congregation.
2. Prophet Azuka
Prophet Azuka declared that Dr. Bawumia was destined to become Ghana’s next President. He went as far as to state that if his prophecy did not come true, his church premises should be burned to the ground.
In a video shared by Express GH TV on YouTube and sighted by GhanaWeb, Prophet Azuka was emphatic about the outcome.
“Today’s date should be marked; I am saying that Bawumia will win the presidential elections. I am speaking on authority. If he does not win, burn my church premises into ashes,” he said.
3. Prophet Paul Kusi Appiah (Warrior-Prophet)
Warrior-Prophet not only prophesied a Bawumia victory but also described the attire Dr. Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), would wear during their inauguration on January 7, 2025.
He challenged those predicting a Mahama win to provide similar details.
During a panel discussion on June 28, 2024, the Warrior-Prophet declared that Dr. Bawumia, currently serving as Ghana’s Vice President, and his potential running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, will win the election.
“They are claiming Mahama will win, and I am also saying Bawumia will win. I want to throw a challenge to them to tell us which position Mahama would be when we ballot because, for me, I know the position in which Bawumia would be placed on the ballot paper.”
4. Apostle Agyenim Boateng
The Senior Pastor of Peniel Outreach Ministries International and host of “Awurade Akasa” on Angel TV/FM, Apostle Agyenim Boateng, has consistently championed Dr. Bawumia as the NPP’s most strategic candidate. He warned that without Bawumia as their flagbearer, the NPP would struggle to secure even 38% of the vote.
“I am declaring today that the only hope of the NPP is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Without the [Vice President], the NPP will lose the 2024 elections. I would be extremely surprised if the party could secure up to 38% of the vote without Dr. Bawumia as the party’s candidate. I came with a word of caution: if the NPP wants to win the 2024 elections, they must be very careful,” the Angel TV/FM pastor proclaimed in his daily devotional on Angel TV.
5. Mama Pat
Controversial Ghanaian evangelist, Patricia Oduro Asiedua, popularly known as Evangelist Mama Pat, formerly Nana Agradaa, has declared that God revealed to her that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will win the upcoming December 7, 2024, presidential election.
In a video shared on social media on November 24, 2024, Agradaa claimed she received a divine message assuring Dr. Bawumia of victory.
“Today is November 24, 2024, and God has revealed a message to me to tell Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. God said I should tell him that he should not worry. Be calm, and you will see the power of God,” Agradaa stated.
6. Prophet William Braham
Prophet William Braham of the Realm of Light Ministries has confidently declared that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be the next President of Ghana.
In a recent live-streamed session, Prophet Braham shared his prophecy, stating that he received this revelation from God.
He emphasised that his prediction was not influenced by personal opinions or preferences. However, it was, in his words, a spiritual message that had been divinely revealed to him.
The Prophet also critiqued other religious leaders who have been making political predictions, suggesting that they are basing their prophecies on personal judgment rather than divine insight.
He expressed strong confidence that his revelation regarding Bawumia’s victory was inspired by a higher authority.
Prophet Braham provided a detailed vision: “Something supernatural is going to happen. There were 13 candidates, and my spirit was carried to a place where I saw a throne with the coat of arms on it. I saw nine steps leading up to the throne. Among the crowd, there were individuals marked, but one had a unique mark like a star within a moon, which I saw resting on Dr. Bawumia of the NPP.”
He continued, “I observed that while many attempted to ascend the steps, they faltered at the fourth, but Dr. Bawumia climbed to the ninth step. A voice then commanded him to ‘sit on the throne,’ and as he did, there was noise and chaos, but it did not deter him. The same moon and star I saw earlier came to rest on him as he sat on the throne.”
The Prophet went on to explain that he saw a key being given to Dr. Bawumia, with a voice declaring that it was a key previously hidden but now revealed to him. Prophet Braham reiterated his belief that Dr. Bawumia, a Muslim, would become Ghana’s next President, insisting that this was not merely a political prediction but a vision granted to him by God.
