John Mahama Would Appreciate Efforts Of The People Of Volta Region – Mr. Benjamin Quashie | Politics
In an effort to rally support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and ensure the maximisation of their votes in the Volta Region, the SA Council of Elders Chair for the NDC, Mr. Benjamin Kofi Quashie has averred that the next John Mahama government would focus on developing the Volta Region, thereby encouraging them to massively vote for him in the upcoming 2024 elections.
He articulated, “the next John Dramani Mahama government would take care of the Volta Region like never before”, rallying support for him come December 7, 2024 elections.
In the previous elections, he argued, a lot of the NDC supporters voted with apathy, complaining of inadequate support from the party regardless of the region being the ‘world bank’ for the party. “We lost the previous elections because our people complained of doing a lot for the NDC, but were not being recognised, leading to apathy”, stressed Mr. Quashie.
In an interview on Accra 100.5 FM, Saturday, November 30, 2024, he noted, that stemming from the previous election experiences, all NDC supporters from the region have been marshalled to be canvassing for votes for the party and John Mahama to win.
Encouraging the people of the Volta Region, he pointed out that, John Mahama has emphatically stated that the region should not just be the ‘World Bank’ of the party but, the next NDC government he would lead would develop the region. This promise, in the view of Mr Quashie, “has resonated very well with the people of the region and shifted the political dynamics from deceits, lies and vote to buy to the reality of the prevailing economic challenges and what the NDC has to offer them”, stated Mr. Quashie.
Regarding his engagements with other parliamentary candidates from the region, the SA NDC Council Chair shared, that most of the PCs are doing very well, arguing the current strategy ought to have been deployed in previous elections which they did not. “Now it’s not about rallies but about educating the people, going to them and listening to their plight”, he said, claiming that, in some places visited, for example, Branda Toni, looking at the people there makes you feel as if they have been cut out from the rest of the country.
As the elections inch closer, Mr. Quashie, in assessing the enormity of efforts put into this campaign, especially in the Volta Region, said, “I think the people would vote massively for their parliamentary candidates and John Mahama to give the NDC a resounding victory”, he underscored.
