Bawumia, Thousands of Muslims Observe Jummah Prayers In New Walewale Central Mosque | Religion
Thousands of Muslims at Walewale joined the Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for Jummah prayers and the commissioning of a new mosque.
It was a special and historic day for the residents as the ultra-modern, magnificent mosque facilitated by Dr. Bawumia was opened to the public and Jummah prayers were for the first time said in the Walewale Central mosque.
A huge number of ecstatic Muslims thronged into the mosque during the commissioning ceremony.
Special prayers were offered for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his benevolence and support to the community with many of them praying for Allah to grant him victory during the December 7 presidential election.
The new mosque is fitted with modern facilities for both men and women section, ablution area as well as offices for the Imam.
With a huge Muslim population within the Walewale township, this magnificent mosque has been expanded to provide enough space to accommodate the town’s growing population.
Vice President Bawumia has over the years extended support to the Zongo and Muslim community in various forms including personally funding the construction and renovation of mosques and schools across the country.
He has also notably supported the Christian community in various ways which include making personal contributions towards building and renovation of chapels and schools among others.
