Winneba Assures NPP Of Massive Victory | Politics
Residents of Winneba in the Effutu Constituency, have pledged to support and vote massively for the New Patriotic Party in the December 7 elections.
At the ABC News’ organized Economic Symposium held on Monday, September 16, 2024, residents who participated in the forum expressed support and enthusiasm towards ensuring that Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia wins the elections.
“We are resolute in our determination and decision to vote for Dr. Bawumia and Honourable Alexander Afenyo-Markin massively. This government has done better than the previous NDC administration. We shall retain this party in power” a young lady who was at the event emphasized.
“Why should we vote for John Mahama to come and cancel Free SHS? He will collapse the policy if we vote for them because he never had any trust in the policy when it was introduced. We shall vote for Bawumia to save Free SHS” one Isaac Bondzie said.
Scores of others praised the government for the massive development projects undertaken since 2017. From roads to harbours, hospital facilities to schools, roads and railways, etc, were mentioned by the people as the developmental projects they have witnessed.
They also expressed gratitude to the MP for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, for the massive developments in the constituency since he became their legislator. They described him as ‘the best thing that has ever happened to us”.
The residents also expressed concern about why the Ministry of Education has not been printing bills of fees and other charges for Free SHS beneficiaries to be given to parents so that they know how much the government is spending and helping Ghanaians.
“We are asking the Education Ministry to regularly print the bills of school fees and other charges of Free SHS beneficiaries for parents. This will help parents to know how much the government is paying for their wards’ education. We are grateful to President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia for the implementation of Free SHS, and we shall vote for Bawumia to continue with the program” Esi Saah stated.
