In a bid to enhance citizen engagement and foster inclusive governance, the Ministry of Information will on Tuesday 6th August 2024 begin in Accra a series of regional town hall meetings and exhibitions across all 16 regions of Ghana.

Daniel Titus Glover deliver updates on the stages of the various developmental projects embarked upon by the Akufo-Addo & Bawumia-led administration. Other speakers will include Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam,MP as well as Information Minister Fatimatu Abubakar.

All 29 districts within the region will also showcase the various projects and initiatives within their respective districts at the exhibition centre.

The initiative is part of an effort by the Information Ministry to decentralise government communication and bring governance closer to the people.

The meeting will bring government officials, youth groups, union representatives and community leaders together to discuss critical issues, on governance and the economy, share ideas, and take feedback for sustainable development and policy refinement.

The meeting will focus on key sectors of the economy such as healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment. Government appointees and other officials will provide answers to the various nagging questions in the minds of journalists and the public.

Over the next few weeks, the Ministry will visit the remaining 15 regions, to further engage citizens and collate feedback on government projects and policies. This grassroots approach seeks to decentralize government communication and bridge the gap between the government and the people, ensuring that everyone contributes to Ghana’s growth and prosperity.

The regional town hall meetings will culminate in a national forum, where feedback and recommendations from all regions will be consolidated and presented to the government for implementation.

The Minister for Information, Hon. Fatimatu Abubakar believes that by fostering open dialogue and collaboration, her Ministry will be able to strengthen the bond between citizens and the government, ultimately driving progress and development in every part of Ghana.
