Clash Of The Northerners: Bawumia Pulls Mammoth Crowd In A Constituency Larger Than Mahama’s National Campaign Launch | Politics
Two of the leading candidates of this year’s presidential election, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and John Dramani Mahama had separate events in the North as the 2024 campaign heats up.
The NPP flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia, who has been touring the Northern part of the country, held a community connect event on Friday in Yagaba in the Yagaba Kubore Constituency of the North East Region while NDC Flagbearer, former President Mahama and his party launched their 2024 campaign in Tamale.
Dr. Bawumia’s campaign, even though a constituency-based, pulled a mammoth crowd which became the talk of the town.
On Saturday, the NDC’s rally, a national event, also attracted a huge crowd with supporters traveling to Tamale from all over the country.
With the two sets of crowd coming just a day in-between the two campaigns in the North, people have begun juxtaposing them.
Some find it intriguing that Dr. Bawumia’s event held within a constituency, the Yagaba Kubore, pulled larger crowd than the NDC’s national event which gathered attendees from all the 16 Regions.
This, to political critics, is worth noting as the momentum for the December 7 polls builds up.
