Be Bold And Implement Your Digital Initiatives For Ghana – Mamponghene To Bawumia | Politics
The Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs have commended Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for spearheading an impactful digitalization drive for Ghana.
Dr. Bawumia is in the Ashanti Region on three-day campaign tour and he paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs on day 1 of his tour.
Delivering a speech before a gathering of the Chiefs, media and the Veep’s delegation, the Mamponghene and the second gentleman in command at the Asante Kingdom, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, was in awe of the good works by Dr. Bawumia.
He lauded the Vice President for his developmental initiatives, particularly his digitalisation programme which has birthed a robust national identity system through the introduction of the Ghana Card among others.
“You have touched on your policies in detail, especially the one on digitalisation and using AI which is so dear to us. It is really good and laudable…Through digitalisation and the Ghana Card, you have helped build a robust identity system for Ghana. Even now, babies who are born get their identity cards the same day. This makes it easier to trace the roots and backgrounds of these children when they grow up”, the Mamponghene remarked.
The Mamponghene urged Dr. Bawumia to be “bold and implement your new digital policies to the letter. It is so dear to us Nananom, for the advancement of the nation”.
Daasebre Osei Bonsu II further commended Dr. Bawumia for his policy to engage the private sector in delivering more government infrastructure should he be elected President of Ghana.
“We are all asking the Almighty God to be behind you and help you. We are very grateful to you and we shall inform Otumfuo about what transpired here today before you meet him on Wednesday”, he concluded.
