Thousands Of Walewale Residents Pour Out In Monday’s Heavy Rains To Meet Bawumia | Politics
A Monday morning downpour in Walewale and its environs did not deter its enthusiastic residents from coming out in their mammoth numbers to welcome a son of the land, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The NPP flagbearer arrived in his home region, the North East Region, to commence a campaign tour of the Region as part of his nationwide tour.
Upon reaching Nasia, a town before his hometown, Walewale, scores of people, both young and old, defied the rains and besieged his bus amidst cheers and chants of support for him.
The enthusiastic crowd, many of whom were riding motorbikes, led Dr. Bawumia’s convoy in a procession while making his way into Walewale en route to the regional capital, Nalerigu.
Dr. Bawumia got the crowd in a frenzy as he got down from his bus and joined them in the rains on the Walewale to Bolga road.
Dr. Bawumia is expected to call on the Nayiri, the Overlord of Mamprugu.
As has been a common feature of his regional tours, Dr. Bawumia will also hold discussions with the Clergy, Imams and the North East Regional House of Chiefs.
He will further engage the youth in an interactive session.
