The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana has called on the government to address the infrastructural deficit in the colleges of education.

According to them, there is a lack of infrastructural development in the Colleges of Education and there is a need to address these issues.

In an interview with the President of the Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana, Jephthah Nana Kwame, there is a need to address the infrastructural deficit that the Colleges of Education are facing which is hindering the effectiveness of teaching and learning.

He added that some of the colleges of education lack hostel facilities.

He called on all stakeholders and government as a matter of urgency to involve private entities in building hostels for Colleges of Education where the fees will be subsidized for students.

Adding to this, he said there is the need to adopt an in-in-out-out, in-out-out-in system and the implementation of the Day or Boarding status in Colleges of Education to minimize the effect of infrastructural deficit.

He also said the double-track system in the colleges of education is not helping with teaching and learning.
