B5 Plus Group Wins Several Awards In The First Half Of 2023 | General News
B5 Plus Limited, a steel manufacturing company in Ghana has received several awards and recognitions for its humanitarian works.
Some of the awards include a plaque from the Ministry of Health for its constant donation of oxygen to various health facilities in Ghana during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Other awards include Best Organization in Corporate Social Responsibility (The Business Executive Excellence Awards 2023)
The group chairman, Mr. Mukesh Thakwani together with his board of directors have stayed true to their promise of ensuring the lives of Ghanaians benefit from their works.
Furthermore, Mr. Mike Mukesh shared some exciting insights about the ongoing efforts within the industry. He emphasized the importance of boosting local manufacturing capabilities and reducing the reliance on imports.
“Some of these products are currently sourced from abroad, but our initiatives aim to foster domestic production right here in Ghana,” he highlighted. This strategic approach contributes not only to self-sufficiency but also plays a crucial role in conserving foreign exchange for the nation.
In addition, Mr. Mike Mukesh sent an appeal to the government to put an immediate ban on the importation of certain goods that are produced in abundance in Ghana.
He explained that some of the imported products are inferior quality and cheaper in the market thus ruining the reputation of the steel industry. “ Today, for the PEB Engineering we have put up a world-class facility here in Ghana. We are able to produce not only for the Ghanaian market but also exporting to the whole West African market.”
He also pointed out that some imported fabricated products and some other products like nails are under invoiced which brings financial implications to the state. As a result of this, the industry has taken a massive hit and the local manufacturers of the nail and fabrication industry are suffering.
However, the group chairman, Mr. Mukesh Thakwani together with his board of directors remain committed to their promise of ensuring the lives of Ghanaians benefit from their works.
